Eagle | Modelling Design

BJ Creative started the artwork for this piece in a 2D environment so that the positioning could be perfect before we started to work on the models required. The Eagle was built in Blender and then exported as a model before being imported in to the scene. We worked heavily on the lighting conditions to get the correct shadows and reflections in the water, that were not overpowering but also created enough impression to question the reality.

The small touches for this design included the autumnal trees and the grass on the island for the background. We were also able to up the wave crests slightly for the water to give more dramatic effect.

Initial Concepts

Starting with a blank canvas on this idea meant that a lot of learning could be made. We worked on the layout and framework design before we started on the actual pieces to go in the render. Getting the composition for the land mass and the water created the largest issues. The placement of the Eagle was always to be front right of the render and a lot of the detailed feathers could be hidden as the shadow helps mask the bulk.

One predefined idea in their head may not translate to the final artwork design, that they wish to use.
