Elizabeth Yardley Events | Website & Logo Design
BJ Creative was tasked by Kate Yardley to build a website for her event management. She was looking for aid with wedding planning, large scale party events and town public events.
Her focus was all on the appearance of the site and the logo so that it encapsulated the correct meaning to people looking throught it.
Kate knew what she wanted and was very clear in explaining the types of things that she was interested in. We received numerous critiques from her about some other websites that she did and did not like the look of and why they raised her interest.
We began the project by working up some ideas for Kate to review on the logo front. One of the key descriptions was that the logo was not to be straight edged and a sharp font. She had very strong ideas from the start and knew in what direction she wanted the project to go.
The logo went backwards and forwards through several amends until all parties were happy. The final logo was exported in multiple formats to enable the usage on any medium at any size.
As usual, we worked up some static images for Kate using Fireworks so that we could quickly alter any of the graphics that she was not happy with or wanted relocated to somewhere else. We played with many colours and combinations to get the correct balance for the website and once Kate was happy, we began the build process.
Half-way through the build, Kate completely changed her mind and switched the colour schemes. This effectively inverted everything that we had done. However as the logo was designed cleanly and with clear edges, it was able to be moved across without any further amendments.
Kate was very keen to hear about the way that we would build the site to get the best possible start with Google in terms of rankings. She was open to our suggested hosting providers and did not feel that we led her down the wrong path.
We handled all of the management of the domains and the DNS records for her email configuration to ensure that the full package was complete for her business.
We built the site using ASP.NET 4.0 and incorporated a contact page and used Master Pages throughout the site.
The site was initially hosted by BJ Creative on our server so that changes could be amended quickly at our end and this also then enabled us to managed the domains chosen for the website.
Since the launch of the site in 2012, BJ Creative has done numerous other projects for Elizabeth Yardley Events, including Christmas Posters promoting the Christmas market in Oakham, as well as Wedding Posters to advertise wedding shows in the local area that Kate had organised.
